Well, the inevitable has come . . . School has started! & we kicked it off w/ a great performance for our teachers' mtg. this morn. We first performed some beautiful Baroque pieces in the hallway, then presented a musical number, "New Moon" (The Meadow, from Twilight) on stage. Now you have to know I'm not into vampires whatsoever (esp. falling in love w/ one ~ ick, cannot get that), but love the music from the series & found it esp. apropos for the situation. It went beautifully!
Was so grateful Mr. Lee (a distant relative, it turns out) had been working w/ the stu's all summer long. So when the Superintendent asked us to perform they were ready. Had plenty of music to choose from. It was a miracle how it all fell together! Was so pleased.
I cried saying goodbye to a couple of my girls who are leaving for college. Was so happy Brittany & Robyn could come & play w/ us one last time. How I'll miss them! They contributed so much to the orchestra. It was such a joy getting to attend Institute w/ them all summer long. We have the most wonderful teacher who cares so much about us & what he teaches. I loved being able to grow w/ those girls spiritually after teaching them scholastically & musically for several yrs.
P.S. ~ Happy Birthday to my Dad today!
